DHANIA( Coriander) TOP HOME REMEDIES


Coriander is the most common household remedy and it is available throughout the year.
Coriander seeds contain an unusual array of phytonutrients. They are a very good source of dietary fiber and a good source of iron, magnesium and manganese.

Dhania ( coriander )is pungent in taste and cooling in nature. Coriander is Aromatic, stimulant,carminative,diuretic and anti spasmodic.

TOP HOME REMEDIES

1) Fresh coriander leaves can be chewed frequently throughout the day to cure stomatitis,bad breath and it also prevents dental caries.

2) Migraine- Prepare fresh juice from leaves and apply externally to the forehead.

3) Indigestion,Colic - mix two spoonful of fresh leaves juice of coriander with glassful of fresh buttermilk and take this two or three times a day. This remedy is good for vomiting and nausea also.

4) Vitamin Deficiency - coriander has a lot of essential vitamins in it. So if you vitamin deficiency,especially Vitamins A,B1,B2,C then take one teaspoon of fresh coriander juice with honey everyday. This has proved to be beneficial in Iron deficiency as well.

5)Nose bleed - this condition is common in Hot Summer days. To stop the nose bleed ,put two drops of fresh coriander juice on both nostrils.

6) Conjunctivitis - wash the eyes frequently with the Decoction of Coriander seeds. It helps to relieve swelling,inflammation and burning sensation.

7) Excessive menstrual flow - make a Decoction with one glass of water and one teaspoon of dhania ( coriander seeds). Boil the water until only half glass remains and drink it couple of times a day for 3/4 days . This should definitely checks the excessive bleeding.

8) Cholesterol - Research has shown that coriander helps lower the levels of total cholesterol, LDL (the ‘bad’ cholesterol), and triglycerides. 
Add two teaspoons of coriander seed powder to one cup of water.Boil the mixture and then strain it.. Make this Tea as a replacement for your regular tea.You can add milk, sugar, and cardamom to it and Drink this once or twice a day.

9) Pimples: The anti-bacterial properties of coriander seeds work as an effective home remedy for pimples, acne and blackheads. Prepare a face mask with coriander paste, honey and turmeric. You can also add multani mitti if you have oily skin. Apply the mask all over the face and let it dry. Rinse with cold water.

10) Skin Rash -Crush some fresh coriander leaves and add some water to form a paste. Use this paste on skin to get rid of rashes. You can mix honey as well.


You can add Coriander in your daily diet in the form of fresh leaves, dry powder and you can also make some fresh coriander chutney.
